Sunwarrior Protein Powder Review
I have tried just about every kind of protein powder you can find. This is why I was so excited to write a Sunwarrior Protein Powder Review. I have tried plant-based protein powder varieties and many that were not plant-based. This was before I found out from a blood test that I am actually allergic to cow’s milk.
I remember sitting in the doctor’s office and he said, “You are not Lactose Intolerant, you are actually allergic to the protein that is found in milk”. I thought “no biggie I like almond milk anyway”, but when he said I was allergic to corn I started feeling the tears surfacing. However, that’s a story for another time.
I had suffered for years with gastrointestinal issues, including heartburn, bloating, stomach pain, you name it. I’ve had an endoscopy, and colonoscopy as well as seeing a couple of specialists. I have found that I am Gluten intolerant but I have not tested positive for having Celiac Disease.
Not a Solution
Sunwarrior Protein Powder Review
So, I wanted to share with you the perfect protein powder I have found that has not caused any negative effects to my stomach, that I have noticed anyway. A whole foods plant-based diet is always the first priority. It is also the best way to attain the nutrients your body needs. This is a great way for me to have a go-to to add some extra protein, having a chocolate craving, and more.
If you have tried to find a gentle protein powder and haven’t found something that hasn’t irritated your sensitive tummy then this may just be the last stop you need to make as far as protein powders are concerned. I have had to revamp my entire diet to reduce the uncomfortable and painful symptoms I have suffered in the past. I have been able to more easily figure out certain foods that do not sit well with my stomach.
This is not, however, the solution to all your problems. An elimination diet was what helped me the most. Learning to incorporate new food items slowly and one at a time has helped narrow down irritants. This is just specifically a post on a much more gentle protein powder that I found is much more gentle and has not added any negative symptoms.
How To Use
First, I have used this powder now in smoothies, pancakes, and recently overnight oats. I can tell you that the taste has been great in comparison to others I’ve tried. My favorite flavor is Chocolate but they have other flavors including vanilla.
Secondly, you don’t have to use the entire scoop. Many times I will use an entire scoop for a batch of pancake mix. Sometimes in the same recipe, I’ll add less, and my husband will add more. Sometimes I just want to know that although I can’t taste it, I know I’m getting a little protein.
Lastly, according to the Sunwarrior site, they want you to consult a doctor for using their product before you use it if you are pregnant or give this to minors. I have to say that I have put this powder in my son’s protein pancakes and he has loved them. I notice he doesn’t eat as many and seems to be satisfied with less than the original pancake mix recipes.
All the Things I Love
The list below will include all the reasons and elements I love about Sunwarrior Plant-based Protein Powder. The list consists of elements that I find important to myself and my family. However, it is important to focus on what is important to you and your family.
Like I mentioned earlier the best part of the Sunwarrior plant-based protein powder is how it makes me feel, including the things it “doesn’t” make me feel (bloated, sick, with heartburn and stomach pain).
- Sunwarrior also has protein bars which I absolutely love to have in my purse when running errands. I don’t eat meat or dairy so it can be difficult to reach for fast food and nearly impossible when you find out you have a long list of allergies to many foods.
- Of course, the fact that it is a plant-based protein powder is the main reason I decided to try it in the first place.
- It’s gluten-free, and this could be why it seems to be more gentle considering I was told by a specialist that I have gluten intolerance (Honestly, I kinda figured it out on my own through trial and error and trying to figure out what was wrong with me for a while).
- Because their products are high in protein I don’t have to search for other ways to add protein when I need it. Oh, and I love chocolate and the chocolate Sunwarrior plant-based protein powder tastes so good in my opinion.
- There are 17g of protein in one scoop of protein powder.
- It contains many amino acids and suggested for better health to the human body.
- 1 Scoop is 4 tablespoons (this is great to add a smaller amount to different recipes).
